Happy early Thanksgiving everyone! I have a medical commitment that is coming up for which I must prepare for around that time so this will be my last journal entry for a while. Buckle up, it's going to be a long one as we visit Helix of Hyperion and Shard of Hyperion as well as the Captiongiving contest. Let's get started.

The Helix of Hyperion Series

It's still coming but will come after Shard of Hyperion. Why? The stories converge, medical reasons, and because of those medical reasons it's easier on me. Shard of Hyperion is a "mirror" and "what if" of Helix of Hyperion.

Some Fun Facts about Helix of Hyperion

• Did you know it was a last minute idea? The story almost went a completely different direction with Allura being a "mother goddess."

• Aurora (classic) is based off a real life friend right down to her eight pack abs

• Allura has a young appearance but has two daughters in the story who look the same age as her

• Cerberus and Harbinger were created because Helix was too powerful

• Supernova Helix is based off of me and is a reflection which is why she is the most powerful, in every sense of the word. If you're in control of how much power someone is going to get, might as well make yourself the queen.

• Trinity is the most popular character of all time

• The belly assault motif came about after I was accidentally hit in the stomach by my real life friend who is the basis of Aurora (classic).

Shard of Hyperion Story

Following Aurora (new) and her new found powers thanks to the Shard of Hyperion, she must face her nemesis Solstice once and for all before the aftershocks of the Helix Shockwave close the door between their universe and the universe from which the Shard came from, forever. But not all is what it seems when Halestorm crosses over to retrieve the Shard for herself.

Some Fun Facts About Shard of Hyperion

• It only came about in October rather than doing a Halloween Special.

• Aurora (new) is a totally different character and doesn't replace Aurora (classic)

• Halestorm is based on a real life friend similar to Aurora (classic)

• Shard of Hyperion introduces the theory of the multiverse to the story

• Physically, Halestorm is one of the most powerful goddesses, even able to snap the back of Aurora

• Shadowstar makes an appearance

• The world is darker

Comments on Work Always Welcomed

Comments and critique on work are always welcomed. It's been a year since I've done this so I know I am a bit rusty and it doesn't hurt to see what others think.

See You On the Other Side of Thanksgiving

I will be uploading and commenting on images and notes but I won't be adding to the journal and at a certain point, to the uploads, for a bit, around Thanksgiving. I want to wish you all an early happy Thanksgiving and see you on the other side of it.

Our entry today begins with a tale of two goddesses: Supernova Helix and Supernova. The two with unlimited superpowers. Are they really the ultimate? How could these two lose to what is nothing more to them but a nuisance - Allura? Are they really the heroines if it comes down to living in their world or dying in the former?

When Allura obtained the Helix of Hyperion and eventually used it by focusing her powers into it as she slammed it into Supernova's stomach, she shattered part of the Helix during the Helix shockwave that had an epicenter at the two goddesses with unlimited power: Supernova and Supernova Helix. The two unstoppable goddesses derive there power from the Helix and as far as anyone was concerned - there's no way to destroy it. Ironic, that for all there hatred of the Hyperion goddesses their very power is derived from Hyperion energy interacting with their Halcyon DNA.

And this so leads us to the Shard of Hyperion. That piece of the Helix wasn't destroyed - it ended up with Aurora who continuously absorbs it's energy. She is by no means Supernova Helix or Supernova; she is by no means unstoppable but she is by every means someone who can and will kill to protect her piece of Helix's powers.

Shard of Hyperion is a reimagining of Helix of Hyperion.

It stars a different cast in new roles under a premise similar although nothing is ever truly similar in the Soul World. By this point in time, the Supernovas rule and are committing genocide, humans are fighting back, and the demigoddesses will be making an appearance as well.

Chaos reigns in this world now and Aurora and Solstice echo Supernova and Allura. This time, what happens has yet to be written.

For now you'll see Aurora and Solstice taking turns in compromised positions.

Until Shard of Hyperion begins, everyone is a free agent. Not to mention any ongoing competition.

After starting work on Omega yesterday I realized that I don't have nearly all the content installed to actually use Omega in a prize winning competition. So I have to amend the official rules and prizes to Captiongiving.

• Write a brief caption story (1 - 2 paragraphs, more if you'd like) of how the images below led to each other using only the characters Aurora and Solstice and optionally Shadowstar.

• Submit your stories to this Journal Entry

• You may submit once per a day up until 12am Thanksgiving in the United States

Prize

The winner of Captiongiving will receive one (1) free commission four (4) page story featuring Aurora and Solstice with the option of including Shadowstar by December 25th.

Note: The choice to include Shadowstar is optional as she is being redesigned and may not be completed by the close of the competition.

The New Aurora, Halcyon Goddess of the Dawn, Representing a shift in art and character design permanently towards that which can be found in Helix of Hyperion, Aurora's introduction comes in Shard of Hyperion, where the Supernova-aligned goddess must keep hidden her piece of the Helix of Hyperion - better known as the Shard, from an unrelenting Solstice and others of the Soul World who would see fit to have a small piece of the Helix after witnessing the power it holds.

From Trinity to Aurora

When it came time to design the Goddess of the Dawn I knew that the files for Trinity had been lost. But what if a character could be created that was inspired by her fan favorite design? Someone with the attention to detail to have sculpted abs but a softer upper stomach; someone who could be more stunning; and someone who would be a modern retake on Trinity if she were designed today.

Enter Aurora. She is the embodiment of how Trinity would have been designed today - a reimagining if you would.

Still a Work In Progress

Believe it or not, since these images were taken, Aurora has changed some more. It shows you how fluid her development is. She'll be a Work In Progress for a little while and won't be finalized until after Solstice is developed.

In either case, I wanted to keep this first look nice and short. A later post will go into what type of powers she has (hint: the sun), weaknesses (like the very deliberate upper stomach), etc.
